Battle of the Books
CiTi Arts-in-Education Presents: Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is a dynamic, team-based literacy program that brings students together to celebrate reading, collaboration and academic achievement. Open to students in grades 3–12 across Oswego County, the program challenges participants to read a curated list of books and compete in quiz-style matches that test their knowledge of titles, authors, characters and key details.
Facilitated by CiTi Arts-in-Education in partnership with Oswego County school librarians, Battle of the Books promotes a lifelong love of reading while building critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills. Students participate in school- and district-level rounds before advancing to a countywide competition, where top teams showcase their knowledge in a fun, supportive and engaging environment.
More than just a competition, Battle of the Books fosters school pride, encourages diverse reading experiences and connects students through a shared passion for literature.
