K–12 Educators Visit BioSpherix as Part of School-Industry Cooperative Professional Development Expe

K–12 educators from Syracuse City School District, component school districts of Onondaga-Cayuga-Madison BOCES, and component school districts of CiTi BOCES visited BioSpherix in Parish, New York, on Friday, May 8, as part of the School-Industry Cooperative.
The regional professional development initiative connects educators with local industry so they can bring authentic, career-connected learning experiences back to students. During the visit, educators toured BioSpherix’s facilities, participated in a roundtable discussion with staff, and explored ways to connect classroom learning to the skills, technologies, and workplace expectations of modern careers.
BioSpherix develops advanced systems that support cell research, cell culture, and biomanufacturing, helping researchers create controlled environments for work in biotechnology, regenerative medicine, and cell and gene therapy.
“It was a pleasure to host this group of educators at BioSpherix and show them the broad variety of roles we have in this small, but mighty company that has been changing the way cell-based research is conducted around the world for the last 25 years,” said BioSpherix President Syed Ahmed Mustafa. “We look forward to working with educators throughout the region to enable students the opportunity to have hands-on experiences in any of the roles in our organization.”
“The goal of the School-Industry Cooperative is to help educators see, firsthand, the opportunities that exist for students right here in our region,” said Brian Heffron, Administrator of Workforce Development & Community Relations at CiTi.
