CiTi Summer Camp Offerings for 2026

The Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation (CiTi BOCES) is excited to announce three engaging summer camp opportunities for Oswego County students in 2026, offering hands-on experiences in career exploration, environmental stewardship and emerging technologies.
Designed to spark curiosity and connect learning to real-world opportunities, the camps will serve students entering grades 4 through 7 and take place at the CiTi BOCES Mexico Campus and partner locations.
Oswego County Micron CHIP Camp: Exploring the Future of Technology
Students entering grades 6 and 7 can dive into cutting-edge innovation at the Micron CHIP Camp, running July 7–9, 2026. This three-day experience introduces participants to artificial intelligence, memory systems and semiconductor science through hands-on activities.
Hosted at CiTi BOCES Mexico Campus and Onondaga Community College, the camp offers students an early look at high-demand technology fields shaping the future workforce.
Community Schools Career Exploration Camp: Unearth Your Future
Thanks to a generous $20,000 donation from Constellation Energy, CiTi BOCES will host Unearth Your Future from July 13–17, 2026. This week-long camp is open to students entering grades 5 and 6 and will provide hands-on exposure to a wide range of career pathways available in Oswego County.
Through interactive “Dig Site” rotations, students will explore fields such as manufacturing, engineering, health sciences, energy, agriculture, technology, public safety, business, hospitality and the arts. The experience includes guided reflection activities and culminates in a Student Career Museum and Family Celebration.
Guardians of the Lake Ontario Sanctuary Camp: Education & Exploration on Lake Ontario
CiTi BOCES has also been selected as a second-round grantee of the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation Sanctuary Community Fund, supporting Sanctuary Scholars, a week-long camp taking place August 10–14, 2026.
Open to students entering grades 4 and 5, this program connects students to the newly designated Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary through hands-on environmental learning. Participants will explore locations such as Sterling Nature Center, engage in stewardship activities and present projects focused on protecting the region’s natural and cultural resources.
The camp is designed to build awareness, responsibility and pride in one of the nation’s newest freshwater sanctuaries while fostering the next generation of environmental stewards.
Building Futures Through Early Exposure
Space is limited, and applications are due by June 30, 2026
“Too often, students are asked to think about their future only when they get closer to high school,” said Brian Heffron, Administrator of Workforce Development & Community Relations at CiTi BOCES. “These camps are about starting that process earlier—when curiosity is high and possibilities feel wide open.”
Across all three programs, CiTi BOCES continues to strengthen connections between education, industry and community—ensuring students see the opportunities available right here in Oswego County.
Transportation, meals and student support are provided for select programs to ensure equitable access for families across the region.
