On Feb. 27, students from the CiTi BOCES Welding program showcased their skills at the Thruway Cup, a hands-on competition hosted by Haun Welding Supply.

The event challenged participants to demonstrate precision, technical ability and professionalism through real-world welding scenarios. Representing Mexico were Genna B. and Cowen C., who competed alongside students from neighboring districts.

The Thruway Cup highlights CiTi’s commitment to providing authentic, industry-aligned experiences that help students build career-ready skills.

A special congratulations goes to Caleb M. of Hannibal Central School District, who earned an impressive third-place finish and will advance to the finals in May.

Event organizers praised this year’s competition as one of the strongest yet, noting the exceptional talent and preparation demonstrated by all students.
