Students enrolled in the Oswego County PTECH Program were recently recognized by Onondaga Community College for outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2025 semester.

Each semester, Onondaga Community College honors students who complete at least 12 credit hours while earning a grade point average of 3.4 or higher. Students earning a GPA between 3.7 and 4.0 are named to the President’s List, while those earning a GPA between 3.4 and 3.69 are recognized on the Provost’s List.

For the Fall 2025 semester, a total of 21 Oswego County PTECH students earned this distinction. Eleven students were named to the President’s List, while 10 students earned Provost’s List honors.

Amanda Petrie, principal of the Oswego County PTECH Program, praised the students’ accomplishments.

“We are so proud of this hard-working and talented group,” Petrie said. “When students exemplify the importance of striving for high academic achievement along with engaging in PTECH industry activities, there is a positive ripple effect down through our lower grade levels. It truly fosters a culture of motivation and excellence in our academic and career readiness experiences for all students.”

The Oswego County PTECH Program partners with Onondaga Community College to provide students with the opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree. The program currently serves 192 students, with 91 students in grades 11–12 taking courses at OCC in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology and Electromechanical Technology degree programs.

At no cost to students or their families, PTECH participants receive support in transitioning to careers or pursuing additional education and workforce development training upon graduation from OCC.

The Oswego County PTECH Program is currently recruiting eighth-grade students from districts across Oswego County for its Cohort 11 class. The application deadline is March 25, 2026. More information is available at the PTECH section of our website..
